Noida and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority CEO Rama Raman says the solution to deal with land scarcity is to go vertical
The Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2011 will make the land acquisition process lengthier, more time consuming, difficult and far more costlier -the only solution is to go vertical, said Rama Raman, CEO, Noida Authority and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority at the recently held Hindustan Times Real Estate Conclave 2011.
“We must make optimum use of the land parcels available to us…
the best solution available to us is to go vertical.
There is no limit to the open skies but it should be done as per what our infrastructure permits,“ he said.
Panelists at the Conclave on `Noida on the fast track, the challenges ahead,’ included Raman; Brijesh Kumar, former chairman and CEO Greater Noida Authority; Prem Prakash, vice president (marketing), Jaypee Greens; Geetamber Anand, vice president (national), Credai; Anshuman Magazine, chairman and managing director, CB Richard Ellis; Ramesh Khosla, architect and director of Arcop Associates; and Shveta Jain, director, residential, Cushman & Wakefield.
Raman also said the major challenge before the authorities was the appeasement of the farmers in the land acquisition matter. “We don’t deny the fact that there is a legal battle ahead of us and that we have to fight that. At the same time, we have to keep up the pace of development and restore the confidence of the people and investors.
We need the farmers to stand with us so that we realise our development goals,“ he added.
